Our Organic Vanilla Beans are prized for their rich aroma and deep, complex flavour, sourced from the Vanilla planifolia orchid. It’s the only orchid in the world that produces an edible fruit. Grown by a farmer’s cooperative in India that places care for the Earth at the centre of its practices, these beans are hand-harvested, carefully cured in small batches, and shipped fresh to preserve their full character. Vanilla is one of the most labour-intensive spices in the world. Each flower must be pollinated by hand, only one bean grows per blossom, and the flowers bloom for just a single day. This careful process results in vanilla beans that are supple, fragrant, and rich in flavour. Ideal for baking, cooking, and infusions, these organic vanilla beans bring warmth and depth to both sweet and savoury recipes. You may notice small white crystals on or inside the bean.
